"Bridgeton: A Center for Smart Food Manufacturing" one of Nine Communities to Receive Innovation Challenge Planning Funds

Trenton, New Jersey - September 13, 2018

Governor Phil Murphy today announced that the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) will award $100,000 each to nine communities to advance plans to strengthen their local innovation ecosystems through the pilot round of the Innovation Challenge. The nine communities receiving awards for their planning proposals are: the City of Bridgeton, the City of New Brunswick, Passaic County, the City of Trenton, Atlantic County, the City of Atlantic City, Camden County, Union Township, and Monmouth County.

Rutgers Launches NSF I-Corps Site Universitywide

Rutgers is launching a new universitywide program to get research out of the laboratory and classroom and into the marketplace faster. The five-week class brings a version of the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps) training to Rutgers to teach scientists how to become entrepreneurs and will be open students, faculty and staff.

Christopher Molloy Named Interim Chancellor of Rutgers University-New Brunswick

Christopher J. Molloy will be interim chancellor of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, President Robert Barchi announced Wednesday. Rutgers Team Takes Home $1 Million Hult Prize

A Rutgers team won the $1 million grand prize in the final round of the international Hult Prize competition, held this past Saturday at the United Nations in New York City. Former President Bill Clinton announced the winning team—Rutgers student Gia Farooqi and recent Rutgers graduates Hasan Usmani, Moneeb Mian, and Hanaa Lakhani, all of whom have studied supply chain management at Rutgers Business School.
